As a woman of color, I am focused on exploring my heritage through pop-up events that celebrate African diaspora cuisine and its influence on American food. I strive to highlight the connections between "American" food and its African roots, acknowledging the significant contribution of black food culture. I use the skills I developed during my time in journalism school at Northeastern University to investigate and find recipes, chefs, and stories that could be lost to time, using what I find as inspiration for my own food and story.
